SOLD OUT

At this time we are completely booked for our Volunteer Opportunities. Be sure to follow us on our various social media sites to receive updates for next years opportunities.

This is a FREE volunteer opportunity for large groups and small parties interested in assisting Cal Poly Rose Float in their preparation for Decorations Week. All ages are welcome to help, however younger children should have an adult with them at all times. Below is everything volunteers would want or need to know about before committing to assisting our team!

What will you be helping with

The tasks to be completed are considered the most essential to the success of Decorations Week. Which are DRY material processing, cleaning flower containers, and sorting flower vials.

What you need to bring

  1.  Food and water.
  2.  Layers of warm clothing:  pants, long-sleeve shirts, sweatshirts, scarf, beanie, gloves, thermals, etc.
  3. Make sure to wear your work clothes.
  4. Closed toed shoes are a must.

PARKING:

Please click on the button(below) to get directions for parking. The parking lot for this event is located just SouthWest from the Rosemont Pavillion, which is where you will come to help. The walk from the parking lot will take 5-10 minutes to reach our Deco Prep location.

Miscellaneous Info

All volunteers will be given a tour of the float and will be able to ask questions about our float making process.

Attention Parents:

Though this is a family friendly event, the environment and tasks at hand are not conducive for children under 6 years old.  Children 6 to 12 years old may engage in some decorating activities for short periods of time that we find appropriate with full parental supervision.  Ultimately we find these tasks don’t hold their attention past 40 minutes.
